シーズン2では、あるメンバーが旅立って4カ月。バック（オリヴァー・スターク）はすぐに戻ってくると信じていた。一方、アシーナ（アンジェラ・バセット）は、消防・救命隊のキャプテンであるボビー（ピーター・クラウス）と急接近する。そんな中、LAの街では、今日も緊急通報ダイヤルが鳴り響く。煽り運転による交通事故やマンホールの爆発など、思いもよらぬ事故・事件が立て続けに発生する。さらに、大規模な災害が襲い掛かる…。
そして、今シーズンから新たな仲間が登場する。『ゴースト 〜天国からのささやき』『クリミナル・マインド』のジェニファー・ラヴ・ヒューイットが演じるバックの姉で元看護士のマディ。彼女は暴力的な夫から逃げ、弟の元へやってきた。バックの勧めで911の緊急オペレーターとして働くことに。さらに、『HEROES Reborn／ヒーローズ・リボーン』や、映画『スタンド・アップ』シリーズでブレイクしたライアン・グスマンが、新人消防士エディに扮する。病気の息子を最優先に考えているが、妻とは疎遠状態という役柄だ。
