コレクションのポリシーは「昭和平等」。お菓子の袋から、レアなレコード、高価な切手まで、“あの時代” を彩ったものなら、なんでも平等に集めてきたコレクター社長・大崎潔氏が、10万点を超える所蔵品から誌上公開する本誌新連載。
第15回は、大人気特撮番組『ウルトラセブン』のレアグッズ。プロが製作した「メトロン星人」のフィギュアと「ポインター」のプラモデルキット。総額は……約77万円だ。

大崎「はい。特撮用の人形も制作する、プロの人形師の方に譲ってもらいました。ベースはキットを使っていますが、さらにオリジナルの造形を追求し、かなりの手が加えられており、顔の部分はLEDで点滅するようになっています」
写「このポインターもめちゃくちゃ精巧ですね」
大崎「こちらは24分の1スケールのキットの制作を、有名モデラーに依頼しました。マーク部分は、塗装仕上げ。一部の窓は本物のガラスです」
写「 “平等コレクター” とはいえ、『ウルトラセブン』に思い入れがあるんですね」
大崎「『ウルトラQ』や『ウルトラマン』とは違い、メッセージ性の強いドラマなんですよね。人間に本当に大事なものは何か、それを逆に怪獣たちに教えられるという。
そして、ダンとアンヌの関係性がまるでメロドラマのようで、小学生ながらドキドキしました」

物心が着いた頃、例のアンヌとペガッサ星人のスチールを雑誌で見て何とも形容し難い不思議な気分になった
後日、実際本編を見る機会があったが、あんなシーンは無かった

初代ウルトラマンは概ねおちゃらけてるけど
スプーンの回なんか最高に笑えるし
ジャミラ、ウー、ピグモンなんかの回は落涙するだろ
セブンは最高だけどやはり初代マンが素晴らしい
