Amazon Prime Video が、SF映画の金字塔『ブレードランナー』の世界を舞台にした新たな実写ドラマシリーズ「ブレードランナー 2099（原題） / Blade Runner 2099」の製作を正式決定したとDeadlineほか各メディアが報じた。
本作は、ドゥニ・ヴィルヌーヴ監督が手掛けた『ブレードランナー 2049』（2017）に続く実写シリーズとなり、1作目の『ブレードランナー』（1982）を監督したリドリー・スコットと『ブレードランナー 2049』の脚本家マイケル・グリーンが製作総指揮を務める。
『ブレードランナー』は、2019年のロサンゼルスを舞台に、過酷な宇宙開拓から逃亡して人間社会に紛れ込んだアンドロイド、レプリカントを追う専門捜査官の一員デッカード（ハリソン・フォード）の葛藤を描くSF映画。その30年後を描く『ブレードランナー 2049』では、『ラ・ラ・ランド』のライアン・ゴズリングを主演に、違法レプリカント処分の任務に就く新主人公Kが巨大な陰謀に巻き込まれる様子が描かれ、ハリソンがデッカード役を再演したことでも話題を呼んだ。
ドラマシリーズのショーランナーは、Apple TV+ドラマ「シャイニング・ガール」を企画したシルカ・ルイサが務め、脚本も担当。タイトルの通り、『ブレードランナー 2049』から50年後が舞台になるが、詳しい物語や過去作のキャラクターが再び登場するのかといった詳細は明かされていない。（編集部・入倉功一）

あれはドゥニ監督が異常なまでのブレードランナー愛が炸裂して成功した奇跡的な続編な訳で
知らんやつが作る知らんキャストの続編は違うでしょ
