ホイットニー・ヒューストンは主演映画『ボディガード』の30周年を記念してオリジナル・サウンドトラックのアナログLP盤が11月18日にリリースされることが決定している。
オリジナル・サウンドトラックはアメリカで1,800万枚、全世界で約5,000万枚を売り上げ、サウンドトラック盤として史上最大のセールスを記録している。シングル・カットされた“I Will Always Love You”も全米シングル・チャートで14週連続1位を記録している。

ホイットニー・ヒューストンは映画『ホイットニー・ヒューストン I WANNA DANCE WITH SOMEBODY』が12月23日よりTOHOシネマズ 日比谷ほかで日本公開されることが決定している。
映画『ホイットニー・ヒューストン I WANNA DANCE WITH SOMEBODY』は『スター・ウォーズ／スカイウォーカーの夜明け』への出演で知られるナオミ・アッキーがホイットニー・ヒューストンを演じる伝記映画で、脚本は『ボヘミアン・ラプソディ』を手掛けたアンソニー・マクカーテンが担当している。

映画はニュージャージーの教会で歌う少女がグラミー賞やアカデミー賞など多くの賞を受賞して、アーティストとして成功を収めるまで、ホイットニーの人生を数多くのヒット曲ともに描くものとなっている。

シングルで14週1位って当時は驚異だった
実際はその前にBoyzIIMenが13週1位記録してたけど
前年のポーラ・アブドゥルの5週1位やブライアン・アダムスの7週1位で
シングルヒットの長期化の予兆はあったにしてもここまで伸びるとは
