SF映画史上最高傑作として、公開後35年にわたり語り継がれる「
ブレードランナー」（1982年）。その続編となる「ブレードランナー 2049」の日本版ポスターが解禁となった。
解禁となった日本版ポスターは、新たなブレードランナー“K”（ライアン・ゴズリング）と、かつてのブレードランナー“デッカード”（ハリソン・フォード）、二人の“新旧ブレードランナー”が背中を合わせて並ぶ、インパクト抜群なビジュアル。
そして何よりも目を引くのが、ポスター中央に書かれた“知る覚悟はあるか——。”という意味深な言葉だ。
前作「ブレードランナー」では、人類への反乱を目論み、社会に紛れ込んでいる違法なレプリカントを処分する役目の捜査官“ブレードランナー”であるデッカードをハリソン・フォードが演じ、斬新でありながら現実的な世界観でSFの金字塔となった。
そして、公開から30年以上経った今なおファンの間で物議をかもしているのが、恋人である女性レプリカント（人造人間）と共に姿を消したデッカードの行方や、彼の正体などの謎、そして人間と見分けのつかない存在である、“レプリカントの是非をめぐる”論争だ。長年決着がつかなかった様々な“謎”があるだけに、重大な“真実”が明かされることを明言したこのポスターに期待値は高まるばかり。そして本作で新たに明らかになる、デッカードの抱える“秘密”とは——。
続編である「2049」の舞台となるのは、前作から30年後、“2049年”の世界。本作の舞台に至る空白の30年間——デッカードが姿を消した後の世界では、レプリカントは制約のない寿命を持つよう改良。しかし2022年、アメリカ西海岸で原因不明の大規模停電が発生し、財政や市場は世界的に停止、食物の供給は切迫。世の大半がそれを“レプリカントが原因”と非難したことで、社会ではレプリカントの製造を禁止する法令が出されるようになった。
そして、この世界の危機を救ったのが、ポスターでもひと際険悪な表情を見せている理想主義的な科学者ウォレス（ジャレッド・レト）。彼は2025年、遺伝子組み換え食物を開発し、世界的な食糧危機を終焉させた。さらに、以前レプリカントを製造していたタイレル社の負債を買い取り、2036年の“レプリカント禁止法”の廃止と共に、ウォレスは新型レプリカントの製造を始めるのだ。
そして続編「2049」で、ロサンゼルス市警の“ブレードランナー”K は、違法レプリカント“処分”の任務にあたる最中、レプリカント開発に力を注ぐウォレスの「巨大な陰謀」を知る。そして、その陰謀を暴く重要な鍵を握るのは30年間行方不明だったブレードランナー“デッカード”だった。彼が命をかけて守り続けてきた“秘密”とはいったい何なのか？
映画「ブレードランナー 2049」は10月27日、全国ロードショー。

『ブレードランナー』（原題：Blade Runner）は、1982年公開のアメリカ映画。フィリップ・K・ディックのSF小説『アンドロイドは電気羊の夢を見るか?』（原題：Do androids dream of electric sheep?）を原作としている。
1993年にアメリカ国立フィルム登録簿に永久保存登録された（選考は10年以上を経てから行われ、興行収入が基準ではない。マイナーな作品からメジャーなものまで幅は広い）。全米週末興行収入成績初登場第2位（1982年6月25日-27日付）。
