土日2日間（1月26日〜1月27日）の全国映画動員ランキングが興行通信社より発表され、木村拓哉が主演した映画『マスカレード・ホテル』が2週連続1位を獲得した。新作『十二人の死にたい子どもたち』は2位に初登場となった。
『マスカレード・ホテル』は東野圭吾の小説を、木村と『HERO』シリーズなどの鈴木雅之監督の再タッグで実写映画化した作品。長澤まさみ、小日向文世、濱田岳、前田敦子、松たか子ら主役級のキャストが集結しており、公開から7日間（1月24日時点）で観客動員数100万人、興行収入13億円を突破している。配給元の東宝は興収50億円を見込めるとしている（数字は配給調べ）。
2位スタートとなったのは杉咲花、新田真剣佑、北村匠海、高杉真宙、黒島結菜、橋本環奈といった若手俳優たちが共演した『十二人の死にたい子どもたち』。作家・冲方丁のサスペンスが原作となり、『トリック』シリーズなどの堤幸彦監督がメガホンを取った。集団安楽死をするために集まった12人の少年少女が、死体を発見したことで疑心暗鬼に陥るさまを描いている。
大ヒット中の『ボヘミアン・ラプソディ』は先週の2位から一つランクを落としたものの、公開12週目にして3位と好調を維持。『劇場版「Fate / stay night [Heaven’s Feel] II.lost butterfly」』『シュガー・ラッシュ：オンライン』がそれに続いている。
新作ではアニメシリーズ『PSYCHO-PASS サイコパス』の新たな劇場版3部作の第1弾『PSYCHO-PASS サイコパス Sinners of the System Case.1 罪と罰』が7位、音楽グループ・GReeeeNの楽曲「愛唄」を題材にした横浜流星主演作『愛唄 −約束のナクヒト−』が10位となった。
今週は『七つの会議』『フロントランナー』『雪の華』『赤い雪 Red Snow』『メリー・ポピンズ リターンズ』『NUMBER37 ナンバー37』『ともしび』などが公開される。（編集部・海江田宗）
