第18回ニッポン・コネクションにて、「オー・ルーシー！」が観客によって選ばれるニッポン・シネマ部門の最優秀作品賞にあたるニッポンシネマアワードを受賞。あわせて、主演の寺島しのぶがニッポン名誉賞に輝いた。
第18回ニッポン・コネクションは、現地時間5月29日から6月3日までドイツ・フランクフルトで行われた日本映画専門の映画祭。クロージングに出席した寺島は「“観客賞”は作り手にとって本当にうれしい賞です。これはロスにいる平柳（敦子）監督にいただいた賞だと思いますので、すぐ連絡します」とニッポンシネマアワードの獲得を喜ぶ。
そして、寺島は日本映画界に特別な功績を残した人物へ贈られるニッポン名誉賞を受賞した心境を「まだ発展途上の私がこのような賞をいただいていいのかと思いましたが、これからの私への期待だと思い、ありがたくお受けしました」と語り、「ベルリン映画祭で銀熊賞をいただき、今回名誉賞をいただきました。ドイツで2度も素敵な賞をいただき心からうれしく思っています。ドイツ大好きです！」と笑顔を見せた。
「オー・ルーシー！」は、43歳の独身OL・節子が英会話教室のアメリカ人講師ジョンに恋をし、彼と再会するため米カリフォルニアを訪れる物語。寺島、ジョシュ・ハートネット、役所広司、南果歩、忽那汐里がキャストに名を連ねた。
