世界的ロックバンド・クイーンのリードボーカル、フレディ・マーキュリーの生き様を描く映画『ボヘミアン・ラプソディ』の前夜祭上映と“胸アツ”応援上映が決定した。併せて、彼らの名曲「ウィ・ウィル・ロック・ユー」誕生シーンの一部を収めた本編映像も公開された。
11月8日に開催予定の前夜祭は、IMAX（R）／ドルビーアトモス上映が行われている各劇場で実施。また応援上映は、翌日の公開初日より、TOHOシネマズ日比谷（東京）・梅田（大阪）にて実施される。フレディをはじめとするメンバーのドラマを鑑賞することはもちろん、クイーンの名曲を劇場で大合唱することも可能だ。前夜祭上映の実施劇場など、詳細は映画の公式サイトで後日発表される。
決定に併せて公開された本編映像は、クイーンの代表曲「ウィ・ウィル・ロック・ユー」誕生の瞬間を収めたもの。バンドメンバー、ブライアン・メイ（グウィリム・リー）の「観客に曲に参加してもらう」という希望で3拍目を手拍子にしたリズムに、フレディをはじめとしたメンバー、最終的には大勢のファンも同調する姿が印象的だ。映像を通して、ファンを大事にしている彼らの想いと曲に対する情熱が伝わってくる。本作には、ブライアン本人もロジャー・テイラーと共に音楽総指揮として参加しており、音楽でも映画を盛り上げる。（編集部・倉本拓弥）
