1914年に韓国に渡り、植民地時代の差別と戦った日本人・浅川巧と、
朝鮮人・李青林（い・ちょんりむ）との友情を描く感動作『白磁の人（仮題）』。
この映画の製作発表記者会見が7月27日に山梨県立美術館にて行われ、
吉沢悠、ペ・スビン、製作総指揮の長坂紘司、原作者の江宮隆之、
高橋伴明監督が登壇した。
2005年に製作委員会を設立した長坂は、クランクインを目前に控え、
その長かった道のりを振り返り「非常に嬉しく思っております。来年の
教科書にも載るなど、生誕120周年の今年、浅川巧を再評価する動きが
日韓共に高まっております。ここまで来れたことを非常に感謝しております」
と感慨深げに語った。
主演の吉沢は、浅川巧を演じることについて「日本人が誇れるような実在の
人物を演じることができて光栄に思うと同時にプレッシャーを感じています。
ぺさんともすでに共通の趣味も見つけましたし、一緒に頑張ろうと思います」
とコメント。
一方、李役を演じたペは、日本映画が初出演ということで「プレッシャーは
ありますが、吉沢さんと浅川さんの墓参りに一緒に行った時に、お祈りしている
姿を見て、ちょっと感動しました。これから（ロケ地の）韓国で友情を育もうと
思っています」と語った。
また、本作でメガホンを取る高橋伴明監督は「男の友情モノが大好きなんですが、
本作でも吉沢くんと、ぺさんがこの作品を通して本当の友情を育んでくれれば、
本物の作品になると思ってます」と意気込みを語っていた。
『白磁の人（仮題）』は2012年初夏、新宿バルト9ほかにて全国公開される。
