スペイン語圏最大規模を誇る第59回サンセバスチャン国際映画祭が
開幕し、韓国の鬼才キム・ギドク監督『アーメン/ AMEN（原題）』が17日、
ワールドプレミア上映された。
ギドク監督は映画が撮れなくなってしまった3年間の苦悩を吐露したセルフ
ドキュメンタリー映画『アリラン』を今年のカンヌ国際映画祭ある視点部門で発表し、
赤裸々過ぎる中身と激変した風ぼうで映画関係者に衝撃を与えたばかり。
それからわずか4か月後の新作が、サンセバスチャン国際映画祭コンペティション
部門入りするや、韓国映画を管轄しているKOFIC(韓国映画振興委員会)
に世界中から問い合わせが殺到したという話題作だ。
そんな世間の喧騒から逃れて極秘の内に製作された『アーメン/ AMEN（原題）』は、
ギドク監督が脚本・撮影・録音・編集・音響、そして出演も果たした72分の自主映画。
画家の恋人を尋ねて欧州にやって来た韓国人女性（キム・イェナ）が、
パリ→ベニス→アヴィニヨン→パリと旅するロードムービーだ。
ギドク監督によると、今年のカンヌに向かうフライトの中で、
20年前に欧州を寝台列車で旅した記憶がよみがえり、物語のあらすじを作成。
そしてカンヌ終了後、制作プロダクションが選んだ本作が映画2作目という新人女優を
呼び寄せて、そのまま欧州に残って約2週間で撮影を行ったという。
製作費は「寝台列車のチケット代ぐらい」で、ギドク監督は
「本作には“誰もが映画を作ることができる“というメッセージが込められている」という。

しかしこれまで、ヤクザが惚れた女を拉致して、自身が管理する風俗店で
働かせる『悪い男』や、整形で彼の愛を繋ぎとめようとする『絶対の愛』など、
ゆがんだ愛のカタチを描いてきたギドク監督だけに、
普通のロードムービーで終わるはずがなかった。
主人公は、寝台列車で寝ている最中にガスマスクを被った男（ギドク）に
レイプされてまもなく妊娠が判明。なおもつきまとう
ガスマスク男に「おれの子どもを生んでくれ」と迫られて苦悶するという展開だ。
またしても炸裂する歪んだ愛に、記者会見ではスペインの記者から
「私生活で、女性との間に何か問題でも抱えているのか？」という質問も出た。
それに対してギドク監督は「そこはいつも批評家や観客
たちに誤解されるところなんですが（苦笑）」と注釈を加えた後、
「この映画はヒロインの苦難だけを描いた作品ではありません。
非常に困難な局面に向き合った彼女が、その苦難を乗り越えて、
自分なりの重大な答えを見つけるまでの話なのです」と熱弁を奮った。
またギドク監督は『アリラン』がカンヌ国際映画祭ある視点部門で最高賞を受賞し、
賞男復活の兆しを見せているが、本映画祭最高賞のゴールデン・シェル賞への
野望を問われると「『うつせみ』（第53回大会に参加）は国際批評家連盟賞
だったので、出来れば（賞を）いただきたいです」と
本音を明かして、記者たちの笑いを誘っていた。
しかしギドク監督は公式上映後、19日からカザフスタンで開催されるユーラシア
国際映画祭で審査委員長を務めるために慌ただしくサンセバスチャンを後にし、
24日に行われる授賞式には参加できないという。
今後は『アーメン／AMEN（原題）』が出品される第16回釜山国際
映画祭(10月６日～14日)のほか、『アリラン』がオープニング上映される
第12回東京フィルメックス映画祭(11月19日～27日)のために来日予定と、
久々の映画祭巡業を楽しんでいる様子だ。

実写映画の出来に関しては
日本は韓国には到底及ばない
出演キャストのギャラだけが目的で作られる映画と
キチンと企画と脚本を主体に制作が進められるハリウッドシステムとの違い
昔は日本も映画会社が作ってたから
監督などの現場サイドの発言力もあって最低限のクオリティが保たれていたけど
いまは電通とか広告会社が宣伝の為に作るから
ムチャクチャなものが出来てしまう
システムを変えればまた日本の映画産業も力を取り戻すだろう
「良いものが売れる」を忠実に続けた日本人のマインドを
映画製作にだけ発揮出来ないワケがない
日本映画の復活の日を待ちたい
