映画『るろうに剣心 最終章 The Final』の主題歌を担当するONE OK ROCK（C）和月伸宏／集英社（C）2020映画「るろうに剣心 最終章 The Final／The Beginning」製作委員会
俳優の佐藤健が主演を務める映画『るろうに剣心 最終章 The Final』（4月23日公開）の主題歌が、ONE OK ROCKが描き下ろした新曲「Renegades」に決定したことが10日、発表された。
本作では、志々雄真実（藤原竜也）との死闘の後、神谷道場で平和に過ごした剣心たちに突如として攻撃が開始され、明かされなかった剣心の過去と消えることのない十字傷への謎につながる。原作では最後のエピソードとなる「人誅篇」をベースとした縁とのクライマックスが描かれる『The Final』、剣心が過去を語る「追憶篇」がベースとなる『The Beginning』（6月4日公開）の2部作で描かれる。
これまでのシリーズすべての主題歌を担当してきたワンオク。ボーカルのTakaは「ONE OK ROCKは映画『るろうに剣心』と共に歩んで来ました。そして、今回も全力で主題歌を書き下ろさせていただきました。この映画が日本の映画界に生き続けると同時に、我々ONE OK ROCKも更なる進化を目指して突き進んでいきたいと思います。主題歌“Renegades”と共に、『るろうに剣心 最終章 The Final』を、どうぞお楽しみください！」とクライマックスを迎える『るろ剣』への思いを語った。
また、本作の公開を記念して、オンラインイベント『るろうに剣心 GLOBAL FAN SESSION』が24日に開催されることが決定。YouTube、ツイッター、インスタグラム、LINEのプラットフォームにてライブ配信される。登壇予定者は、佐藤、武井咲、新田真剣佑、青木崇高、土屋太鳳、有村架純、高橋一生、江口洋介、大友啓史監督。
