5月8日に発売された『バイオハザード』シリーズ最新作『バイオハザード ヴィレッジ』ですが、本作に登場する一部クリーチャーのデザインについて、2013年公開映画「武器人間（Frankenstein’s Army）」の監督Richard Raaphorst氏が同作に登場したクリーチャーとの類似性を指摘しました。
Raaphorst氏によれば許可やクレジットなしに使用されているとのことで、Twitterユーザーがまとめたさらなる類似キャラの比較画像を見てからは「あぁ、これは思った以上に酷い。最初は怒りを感じ、次に誇りを感じたが、これを見ると悲しくなる」と落胆した様子を見せています。
PC GamerによればRaaphorst氏はカプコンが意図的にやったのかはわからないとしながらも「偶然にしては似すぎている」「事前に知らせてくれていたら嬉しかった」と語ったそうです。なお、同氏はカプコンに対して法的措置を取るつもりはないようですが、「私はただ彼らがクレジットを与えてくれれば良いと思っています」と自身の考えを伝えています。
