　7日、尾田栄一郎の人気漫画を実写ドラマ化するNetflixオリジナルシリーズ「ONE PIECE」で、ルフィたち“麦わらの一味”が乗るゴーイングメリー号などのコンセプトアートと、実際に建設された撮影セットを収めた特別映像が公開。さらに、ミホークをはじめとした重要キャラクターを演じる追加キャストが発表された。

　「ONE PIECE」は、伝説の海賊王、ゴール・D・ロジャーが残した「ひとつなぎの大秘宝」（ワンピース）を求め、主人公モンキー・D・ルフィ率いる海賊“麦わらの一味”が冒険へと繰り出す物語。実写版の麦わらの一味は、ルフィ役をイニャキ・ゴドイ、ロロノア・ゾロ役を新田真剣佑、ナミ役をエミリー・ラッド、ウソップ役をジェイコブ・ロメロ・ギブソン、サンジ役をタズ・スカイラーが務める。

　今回公開された映像には、コンセプトアートに続いて、麦わらの一味の大切な仲間であるゴーイングメリー号や、海上レストラン・バラティエ、物語の始まりの舞台フーシャ村など、おなじみの世界が実際に生み出されていく様子が、タイムラプスで映し出されている。南アフリカに建設されたという、こだわりのセットについて、脚本・製作総指揮のマット・オーウェンズは「原作の世界が再現されていく様子は見ていて感動的でした。細部までこだわって作り上げるため多大な時間を費やしています」と熱弁している。

　さらに、物語を彩るキャラクターを演じる、新たな追加キャストも決定。逆らう者は味方だろうと容赦なく処刑するシェルズタウンの支配者・斧手のモーガンをラングレー・カークウッド、シロップ村でウソップが元気付けていた大富豪のお嬢様・カヤをセレスト・ルーツ、カヤの家の執事・クラハドールをアレクサンダー・マニアティス、かつては”赫足”と恐れられる海賊だったバラティエのオーナー・ゼフをクレイグ・フェアブラス、“鷹の目”の異名を持つ世界最強の剣士ミホークをスティーヴン・ウォード、ナミの義理の姉ノジコをチオマ・ウメアラがそれぞれ演じる。
