ビートルズ（The Beatles）のインド滞在期に迫るドキュメンタリー映画『ミーティング・ザ・ビートルズ・イン・インド』の劇場公開が決定。9月23日(金・祝)より、ヒューマントラストシネマ渋谷、池袋シネマ・ロサ、アップリンク吉祥寺ほか全国公開。
『ホワイト・アルバム』が生まれたインド滞在時に、バンドと共に過ごしたカナダの映像作家ポール・サルツマンが監督を務めています。
サルツマンは1968年、失恋の傷を癒やすために、北インドのガンジス川のほとりにあるマハリシ・マヘーシュ・ヨーギーのアシュラム（僧院）を訪れます。そこで彼が出会ったのは、ビートルズのジョン・レノン、ポール・マッカートニー、ジョージ・ハリスン、リンゴ・スター。サルツマンは、ビートルズとともに瞑想を学びながら過ごした8日間をカメラに収めました。それから50年、サルツマンはビートルズ研究の第一人者である歴史家マーク・ルイソンとともに、インドを再訪します。
製作総指揮はデヴィッド・リンチ（David Lynch）、ナレーションはモーガン・フリーマンが担当しています。
