うちの息子・笑福は今年7歳になり小学校に通っています。平仮名などを教えていなかったため、4月に入学し、平仮名を覚えることにかなり苦戦していました。夏休み前に、出来てない子は数人だったようです。夏に頑張って、だいぶ読み書きできるようになりましたが、
僕も妻も、めちゃくちゃ勉強が出来る子になってほしいとは思っていません。そこに興味があるならいいのですが。
文字に関しては、覚えた方が笑福の大好きなゲームや映画などでも、楽しみ方が増えるので、覚えてほしいなと思っています。
苦手なら苦手でいい。その代わり、好きなものをもっと、とことん好きになってほしいと思っています。
僕の姉の二人目の子供は生まれた時から障害があります。現在20歳を超えました。彼なりのスピードで成長しています。姉の育て方を見て、スピードは人それぞれでいいと本当に思っています。
そんな僕が、見て、とても感動した映画があります。9月1日公開の「さかなのこ」です。
のん主演の映画で、魚博士のさかなクンの人生をベースにして作られた映画です。
男とか女とかはどっちでもいいという作り手の強い意志を感じるこの映画。のんがさかなクンをモデルにした主役を演じているのです。
子供のころから魚が大好きだった主人公ミー坊。魚のことばかりどんどん詳しくなっていく。
でも、勉強は苦手。ミー坊の母親は「それでもいい」と強く思っている。好きなことをもっと好きになってほしいと思って育てている。その母親の「姿勢」に胸が熱くなります。
脚本を担当した前田司郎さんも映画の資料で、「世間には才能に溢れ、それ故に周りから理解されずに孤独に生きている人が沢山いると思う」と語っています。
まさに、それなんですよね。僕らが仕事している世界には、勉強が苦手で、運動も苦手で、だけど、自分が好きなことを見つけて、得意なことを見つけて、それを仕事にしている人が沢山います。
この映画を見て、あらためて、子供の好きを育ててあげたいと本当に思いました。
さかなクンがモデルの映画と聞くと、子供向けなんじゃないかと思う人も多いかもですが、親にこそ見てほしい映画だなと思っています。そして、かなり笑えます。声を出して笑った映画は久々かもしれません。本当に素晴らしい映画だなと思います。
この映画の主人公をよく「のんでいこう」と思いついたなと。そしてそれを決断したなと。
のんを主演にすることによって、制限されてしまうことも出てくるかもしれない。それでも、のんでいこう！と制作者一同が、決断した気持ち。
この映画には沢山の人の「強い気持ち」が溢れています。小沢健二の歌ですよ。「強い気持ち・強い愛」ですよ。
強い気持ちと強い愛が信念となり、この映画を作っている。のんが主演していることで、本当に唯一無二の映画になっています。
