大友克洋監督のアニメーション映画『AKIRA』の極上音響上映決定。12月14日(土)から12月26日(木)まで東京・立川のシネマシティにて行われます。極上音響上映は、作品に合わせて最適な音響に調整して行われる大音量上映のこと。今回は映像・サウンドクオリティ重視で、あえて35mmフィルムではなくBlu-rayで上映。

世界に衝撃を与えた、東京オリンピックを来年に控える2019年のネオ・トーキョーで繰り広げられる、サイキック・サイバー・バトルアニメーション。
35mmフィルムも考えたが、画質・音質重視で、Blu-rayにて上映。
音響調整は、広く舞台や音楽ライブでも活躍してきたベテラン音響家、増AKIRA(マス・アキラ)氏に依頼。

概要
1988年、関東地区に新型爆弾が使用され、第3次世界大戦が勃発した――。2019年、ネオ東京。金田をリーダーとするバイクの一団は進入禁止の高速道を疾走していた。しかし、先頭にいた島鉄雄は突然視界に入った奇妙な小男をよけきれずに転倒、負傷する。小男と鉄雄は直ちに現れたアーミーのヘリに収容され飛び去ってしまった。翌日、鉄雄を捜す金田は、少女ケイと出会う。彼女は反政府ゲリラの一員で“アキラ”という存在を追っていた。その頃、鉄雄はアーミーのラボで強力なクスリを連続投与され、不思議な力を覚醒し始めていた…。
