2011年に最も不正ダウンロードされた映画ベスト10が発表され、
1位は『ワイルド・スピード』シリーズの第5弾で、
全米で4月29日に公開された『ワイルド・スピード MEGA MAX』
の930万回だったことがわかった。
ビットトレントを通じて不正ダウンロードされた結果をtorrentfreak.comが
発表したもので、
2位は大ヒットコメディー『ハングオーバー!! 史上最悪の二日酔い、国境を越える』
の880万回、3位はアメコミ映画『マイティ・ソー』の830万回、
4位はSF・テクノスリラー『ミッション:8ミニッツ』の790万回、
5位はSFアクション『アイ・アム・ナンバー4』の770万回と大作が勢ぞろいした。

7位は主演のジェームズ・フランコがアカデミー賞主演男優賞に
ノミネートされたドラマ『127時間』の690万回、
8位はジョニー・デップ主演のアニメ『ランゴ』の650万回、
9位はアカデミー賞作品賞とコリン・ファースが主演男優賞を受賞した
『英国王のスピーチ』の630万回、そして10位はシリーズ最終章
『ハリーポッターと死の秘宝 Part2』の600万回と、
様々なジャンルがランクインしている。
ハリウッド・レポーター誌によれば、
「昨年の1位は、2006年のリサーチ開始時期からの歴代1位に輝いた
『アバター』(09)の1600万回で、トップ10全体の不正ダウンロード回数も
昨年より減っているが、ビットトレントのユーザーは減っているわけではなく、
ダウンロードされる映画のタイトルそのものが増えている」そうで、
厳しい法的措置が取られても不正ダウンロードそのものはなかなか
